Styx River 2006 - Biker Party
Styx River 2006 near Robertsdale, AL March 31st - April 2nd, 2006 This was their first rally after the infamous flood from last year, and they're still getting their feet back on the ground. As a matter of fact, they've been so busy working on the campgrounds that they sorta forgot to tell everybody about their upcomming rally... and the turnout showed it. That doesn't mean however that it wasn't at least a half decent time. People started rolling in on friday afternoon, even though the weather was supposed to be pretty crappy all weekend. On Saturday the skies really cleared up and it turned out to be a beautifull day, and a bunch of ''day-trippers'' showed up at the last minute. The events were standard Styx river rall fare... biker rodeo in the early afternoon'ish with of course their famous ''buy back'' rules, a bike show, tattoo contest, and a live band. Followed by a wet t shirt contest after the sun went down. They also raffled off a mini chopper to raise some money for charity. Now I remember going to the Styx river rallies way back when it was poppin', and I've always had a good time down at the river. Now that the campgrounds are back up & running let's hope that they put a little more effort into letting people know when their next party is so we can get a better turnout. ---------------------- Campground Description : Nice campground on the banks of the styx river. Sand, lots of shad trees. Porta potty toilets, food vendor on location.
