JuneBug Boogie TOO Cookeville, TN September 22-24th, 2006 Rain rain go away This was the very first ever fall version of the Junebug Boogie biker party and it started out pretty good. I rolled in friday afternoon and was pleasantly suprised by the turnout, usually first time parties are rather quiet. Friday evening was pretty traditional biker party fare... they had a live band or two crankin' out some tunes, a wet t shirt contest and a bun shaking contest (for the ladies) with tons more lined up for the rest of the weekend. Everybody was having a good time and partied on 'till the wee hours of the morning. And then it started to rain. It poured down for a few hours but then finally cleared up early afternoon... for a few hours. The field managed to dry out a bit, just enough to have some biker rodeo games in the afternoon and a bit of fun. And then all of the sudden the sky clouded up again and the bottom really dropped out. It rained. And rained. And then rained again some more. And then just for a little variety it poured rain, drizzled rain, deluged rain, hammered rain... anyways, you get the idea. Too bad because it was shaping up to be a good little party. They had to cancel the saturday night contests, and live bands, and burnout competition, and bike show... sniff... my heart's broken. Oh well, watcha gonna do? I guess sometimes going to biker rallies is kind of like being a farmer. You plant you crops and hope for good weather when it's harvest time. Only in our case we go to these parties out in the middle of nowhere and hope for decent weather. Or at least a little something better than a torrential downpour lasting through the night. Oh well, even though the weather could hardly have been worst I honestly wasn't dissapointed by the rally. It WAS shaping up to be a good time until the weatherman (you've gotta blame it on somebody!) decided to rain on the parade. And just a note, the ONLY reason this rally scored so low is because of the exceptionally bad weather. If it wasn't for the rain this party would have easily been at least a 7-8/10. ---------------------- Campground Description : Private property just outside of the small town CookeVille, TN. Tons of space the rally grounds are mostly rolling hills, plenty of shade trees around the periphery. Gravel roads throughout the campground. Clothing optional, lots of nudity. A real biker bar at the rally grounds entrance. A main stage with a vendor strip. Very few RV spots available. Plenty of primitive (tent) camping. Hot showers on location. Food vendors on location. Ice & beer sold at the entrance. --------------------- Entry : $20 for the entire weekend, includes primitive camping. Bikes enter free. Adults only, 21 or better to enter.
