JuneBug Boogie Cookeville, TN June 15-18th, 2006 A solid little biker party It's been a while since I've been to the Junebug boogie so I thought I'd head down to Tennessee to check it out... and it was a pretty good time. A couple thousand of the right kind of people showed up, the weather was perfect and the party was on. The only thing bad I can say about this biker rally is that it's the week after Hogrock. Kind of hard to top that one, it's like having your birthday the day after Christmass. They had some pretty good bands Including one of my personal favorites, Big Mike Griffin. If your a blues fan, or hell even if you just like good music you owe it to yourself to catch one of his shows. Junebug boogie's got a lot of contests, and many of them are coed. They'll have a ladies wet t shirt contest followed by a men's wet boxer shorts contest... a women's best buns contest followed by the men's best chaps contest... and so on. For all of you who's old lady keeps complaining about how they don't never get to see nothin' at a biker party this would be the one to take them to. They also had a women's home made bikini contest, and their signature Saturday night event, the ladie's Beads contest. The girls go around all weekend collecting beads (ya'll know how that works). Then they get up on stage for the final contest and first weigh them on a scale to see who's collected the most, and then of course they have to show off their ''bead acquisition'' skills to the entire crowd. Not a bad little contest at all. And just in case anybody's actually curious I think the winner had something like 50+lbs of beads and some serious naked dancing and crowd pleasing skills. Let's see... the also had a big fireworks show late saturday night after all the contests to cap off the rally, some biker rodeo games friday & saturday afternoon, a loud pipes contest and a damn good burnout contest. And of course Smitty the titty painter and the bush barber were both there to add their contributions to the weekend. I have to say this is a solid, grass roots biker party. Off on private property, it's definately a ''get naked if you want'' kind of weekend. Don't bring the kids, it's a 21 & over rally and certainly my kind of party. They've got another planned the weekend of September 22nd, make sure & drop by for a good time. ---------------------- Campground Description : Private property just outside of the small town CookeVille, TN. Tons of space the rally grounds are mostly rolling hills, plenty of shade trees around the periphery. Gravel roads throughout the campground. Clothing optional, lots of nudity. A real biker bar at the rally grounds entrance. A main stage with a vendor strip. Very few RV spots available. Plenty of primitive (tent) camping. Hot showers on location. Food vendors on location. Ice & beer sold at the entrance. --------------------- Entry : $25 for the entire weekend, includes primitive camping. Bikes enter free. additional $30 fee for vehicules that are NOT motorcycles. Adults only, 21 or better to enter.
