Emerald coast bike fest Holt, FL April 21-22-23, 2006 This rally sure has grown since the first one, and it's REALLY starting to feel like the gulfport memorial day blowout. Drags all weekend. Classes include top fuel, drag (slick) tires, street tires and ''run what you brung'' open to all street legal bikes. And also out on the track a wheelie competition, burnout contest and a slow race. It must have felt pretty weird to be in a slow race on a top fuel drag strip :) A couple of bands, a bull riding contest on friday and a wet t shirt contest late saturday pretty well sums it up. Oh ya, and a bike show out at the end of the field. I don't know what to say about this rally. Like I mentioned it's really starting to feel like gulfport... except of course it only cost's about half as much to get in. They probably had about 4-5,000 people that showed up over the weekend, and the main event at this rally is of course the drag racing. A real wild biker party it is not. It IS a weekend at the bike drags with a wet t shirt contest thrown in on saturday night. I did see a bunch of kids during the day, a lot of jap bikes and weekend motorcyclist's... along with some real bikers and people that just drove their cars in for the day because they like motorcycles. No nudity during the day time, which is fine I guess because for some reason there are still a few (idiots?) that think that biker rallies are familly events. If you do have to bring the kids, they should definately leave before the 10pm contests. Or better still lock them up in the RV. Did I mention it's a lot like gulfport? The only thing missing is doubling the entry fee and a field with some biker games. ---------------------- Campground Description : Located at the Emerald Coast dragway, in Holt, FL. Right off I-10, between Crestview & Pensacola. Lots of field space, plenty of room for bazzilions of RV's & tents. Vendors, showers, big stage. No shade. Paved roads around the drag strip, dirt roads & grassy fields in the campgrounds. --------------------- Entry : $25 for the entire weekend, includes primitive camping $10 for entry Sunday only $15 entry fee for all vehicules in campgrounds, EXCEPT motorcycles which are of course free. $5 parking fee for car & truck day parking RV's extra Camping on Site : Included RV Hookups Available Free Showers on location Live Bands : DB Bryant Contests : Wet T Shirt Seductive Bull Riding Events : Run what you Brung (on the dragstrip) Bike Show Motorcycle wheelie contest (on the dragstrip) Burnout competition Food & other vendors on location
