Rain rain go away.

Fortunately they have the Dothan Bikefest at the Dothan county fairgrounds... there's a huge building with plenty of room for everybody where they can have all the bands and contests indoors.  And it's a good thing too, cuz it poured rain almost all weekend.

You can bring your kids to this one if you want to, but there IS some nudity at this rally.  Everytime they're going to have a contest or something on the main stage they ask the children to clear the building before the fun starts.  Of course I'll never figure out why somebody would want to take their 7 year old kid to a wet t shirt contest... but it does happen.

Maybe a couple of thousand people showed up for the rally and it was a pretty good time.  Friday night started off with a bang, the bands played and there was a pretty good late night wet t shirt contest.

Saturday was a little slower, on account of the rain.  They had a motorcycle stunt team come to perform during the afternoon, but though it wasn't raining at that particular moment they pavement was still slick so they had to forego their wildest stunts and tone down the show quite a bit.  Was still pretty good... you wouldn't catch me doing that crap on my scooter in bare sleeves, without at least gloves & a helmet for some protection.  At least not sober.  I guess that's why THEY get paid the big bucks, huh?

It was raining at the time they had the biker rodeo scheduled for and it had to be cancelled.  Too bad, it's alway fun to watch bikers try to out do each other.  And it gives you something to do on a Saturday afternoon while everybody waits for the sun to go down, you know what I mean?  Besides, I kinda like watching the weenie bite contests.

They did have a tatoo contest (split into men's & women's catagories) indoors at the stage and a pretty good bike show during the afternoon.  Early in the evening was the ''almost famous'' girls wrestling in Jello pudding indoors right in front of the main stage, make sure to check out the pictures on the left.

As the evening wore on everybody was able to party nice and dry INSIDE while the rain came down and hosed everything off OUTSIDE.  The bands cranked out some tunes, and they had a late night Miss Dothan Bikefest contest for the grand finally.  Finalee?  Finaley?  Whatever, the last thingy before the end of the rally.

All in all it wasn't too bad.  Shame about the rain, but what can you do?  Organizing a biker rally is kinda like being a farmer... you get everything ready and then hope for good weather during the harvest season.  Good thing they have that big building everyone can party in, it saved the weekend!
