RALLY AT THE STRIP in Newport, TN

DATES May 5 - May 8, 2011 LOCATION Newport, TN ADMISSION $35 entry fee per person three day pass (Friday - Sunday), $20 per person day pass. Half price for active military with ID. Free primitive camping, no support vehicle fees. RV hookups available (water and power) AGE RESTRICTIONS For adults only, must be at least 21 years of age. BANDS Geneva, Grits, Contagious, RB Stone, Stone Sunshine EVENTS Drag strip races, run what you brung (open to everyone with a motorcycle). Bike show, burn outs all the time in the bar, Sunday AM services. CONTESTS Wet t shirt contest, frozen t shirt contest, midget toss FACILITIES Outdoors, located at the English Mountain drag strip just a mile out side of town. Lots of nice grass for camping. I like this party!       Rally at the strip is just a good old time up at the English Mountain drag strip right outside the town of Newport TN. Located right in the heart of the Smoky Mountains.       The main thing is the drag strip. Instead of having all kinds of proffessional racers hogging the track all weekend long they simply allow all comers to fire up their motorcycles and run them down the track. Race your buddies or just twist your throttle way up to see what your bike can really do... it's all good and a lot of fun.       They've also got a drive through biker bar at the top of the hill with a stage for live bands and some vendors for you to party late into the night. And of of course YES you CAN drive you bike right into the bar and do a burnout... as a matter of fact they encourage it!       Throw in some live bands and a boobie contest every day right around sunset, and people just generally hanging out and having a good old time and you've got yourself a party!       The atmosphere is laid back, the people are all real cool, the drag strip is a lot of fun and the bands and contests are just icing on the cake. I like this show, it's a great medium sized party and worth the trip.
