One damn good show. |
The West Virginia Mountain fest is so big I don't really know where to start. Charlie Daniels and Creedance Clearwater Revisited, Trailer Choir, Bag Lady Sue and a half dozen more bands performing over the weekend. There's so much going on you can run yourself ragged just trying to keep up with it all.
This is a family show, except for the Coal Bucket Saloon which is a big circus tent set up as the adults only portion of the rally. Located up on top of the hill by the campgrounds with it's own stage, bands, entertainment, contests and of course beer. Shuttle buses run pretty well non stop all weekend long so when your done with all the main rally happenings you can ride up to the Saloon and just kick back and have a great time.
Trying to tell you about this rally is like attempting to describe Daytona bike week. Really cool stuff, happening all over pretty well sums it up. This show has something for everyone, from a kid's corner to a huge vintage bike show and a wild bar with contests every night.
I really liked this show, you can tell the promoters have their shit together and know what their doing. The entry fee is VERY reasonable, you can camp out and party hard... and still catch the amazing vintage bike show, builder showcases, motorcycle stunt shows and everything else.
It's been a long time since I went to a show this well organized with so much going on, and I highly recommend it. It's certainly on my ''to go to'' list for next year, it's the kind of weekend that makes you wish they'd have two shows a year.
Bob rates this party an excellent 9/10 score
