2008 daytona biketoberfest - at the iron horse saloon Bob rates this rally a 6/10 beer cans The world famous Iron Horse saloon in Daytona Beach, FL An icon of daytona bike week for years I decided to go down to the Iron Horse Saloon on friday and spend the day. Before I actually shot any photos I checked in and was asked not to shoot any nudity that I may see. Not that there was any, but just in case. They didn't have any kind of contests or anything else organized for the entire octoberfest, this place is ALL about the bands. They did have an amazing line up scheduled... everything from rockin' Jasmine Cain and Big Engine to JB walker & David Allen Coe. Who I unfortunately I didn't get photograph because he showed up late for his show. Again. And honestly I just got tired of waiting for him and called it a night. They did have the California Hell Riders there, a wall of death stunt show. For an extra $5. Entry to the Iron Horse is free, just wander in through the front gates and enjoy the music, shop in the little stores and hang out with your buddies. Despite the kickin' ass bands they had all weekend long it really wasn't much of party, it felt more like a relaxed music festival. I think that the most exciting moment of my entire day there was when Jasmine Cain quit slamming down on her guitar long enough to go crowd surfing. And Big Engine came out rocking hard and didn't pause their entire show. Hell at least somebody tried to kick the party up a couple of notches. And of course JB Walker, who alway put's on a good show. This one's hard to call. If you love good music and are all about the bands this was probably THE spot for you during biketoberfest.
