| Bob's famous party adventures ! June Bug Boogie TOO 2007 Sept. 28th - Sept. 30th, Cookeville, TN A very good old school biker party Way out in the heart of moonshine country you'll find the junebug boogie TOO, wich is the fall version of their summer junebug boogie rally. It's always a good time so I decided to drive over & check them out. Friday night was the strongest person contest, which was coed... the participants had to hold up gallon jugs of water for as long as possible. Of course the ladies got to start off with a little less water than the dudes, and if you were so inclined you could improve your odds of winning by doin' it nekkid. So if you took your top off they'd drain a quart of water from your jug, and bottomless would get you another quart... and so on. Do I really have to explain what happened next? Suffice to say some of them gallon jugs looked like they barely had a cup of water left in the bottom! Don't forget the friday night 40's plus wet tee shirt contest. I guess they split up the wet tee contest's into two different age groups to give all the girls a chance at the prize money... which ended up being something over $600! Saturday was a beautifull day, with a couple of biker games spaced out during the day. They would have a weenie bite and slow race, then take a break for an hour or to give you a chance to walk around and visit with your friends, or catch the band and grab a bite to eat. Then they would have another contest a bit later on with another couple of games, and then another break... and so the daylight hours went. On Saturday night they had the wet tee contest, the mens hot buns contest and a ''show off your beads'' contest late at night. And of course the STACIE COLLINS band was rockin' away between the contests and keeping things live. You gotta love it, the ''open to all ages'' wet tee shirt contest was pretty good, and lasted so long that TWO people passed out and they had to call the EMT medics to take care of them! Now that's a contest! They had a pretty decent turnout, and even more importantly they had the right kind of people there. You'd have to travel far to meet a better bunch of hard-partying people like I saw this weekend. Not a lot of RV's, and a lot of people still ride their motorcycles to this party which is one of the reasons I like it so much. Keep your calendars open, they've got two parties every year... with a halloween biker party the last saturday in Oct. Check it out, if it's anything like their rallies it's gonna be a good time. |
