2009 Bobby Appleton bike show
Bobby Appleton is an old school bike builder from way back before stupid television shows made it cool. Winner of the first ever Rat's Hole Show in Daytona, builder of celebrity motorcycles for such famous people as Brooks & Dunn, Wade Hayes, Wynonna and corporate bikes like the world famous Gibson and Hooter scooters. The man is truely a legend in his own time.
He's been hosting his own bike show since 1995, but this is only their fifth year indoors at the Nashville fairgrounds.
It was a pretty good with a couple of really exceptional bikes. Make sure and check out the ''Sundancer'' and ''Tri-Zilla'', I promise them motorcycles will make you start thinking about how you could trick out your favorite ride.
Celebrity guest appereances by biker bands Geneva, little old me and Big Mike Griffin who was gracious enough to play a few tunes for everyone. Because he's that kind of guy. There's something about blues that just kind of goes with motorcycles.
This was a family event, the door fee was only $10 and kids got in free. Every show class winner got a big giant tropy, bragging rights and free Gibson guitar. Best of all is the fact that there were NO judges, all bike show awards were passed out according to the number of votes each motorcycle had recieved. I think that's the way to go, after all isn't that the ultimate test of a show bike?
Thanks to Bobby Appleton, Hooters and Gibson guitars for putting on the shown, and for having me over to shoot it.
